about

Orchestrated by the German Umberto Echo of Oneness Records and his entire team, "Hit Me With Music" also features the prestigious German collective Silly Walks Discotheque and the Jamaican Altafaan aka Anthony Senior among others. Dean Fraser makes brass appearances, as do the musicians of the Next Generation Family Band. Once posed, Sara Lugo enters the stage with her voice worthy of the most beautiful and rare female voices of the time. We evoke an era, because the album wants to be roots ("Black & White", "Play with Fire") with ska incartades ("The One"), jazzy pop also (I Wish) but also very soul ("More Love"). The whole is extremely soft, sweet and yet modern ("Soldiers of Love") and fluid. Positive and conscious of the heritage of reggae music that she fully embraces, Sara Lugo writes her own lyrics very focused on love and peace, distilled in a languorous English. She invites prestigious singers of her generation to support her: the Jamaican Protoje on a very sensual "Really Like You", his yardy compatriot Kabaka Pyramid on the already known "High & Windy", as well as the Indonesian Ras Muhamas (from the Oneness stable) on a new roots reggae and dancing "Learn to Grow". In short, "Hit Me With Music" is a pearl of sweetness, not to be missed!
